Here are some of the things that'll be in your goodie bag:
In other writing-related news, I really don't have much to report. I'm still chugging along at this very, very long southern gothic novel that'll take a great deal of time and care to edit. I'm about halfway through the first draft now, so at least that's promising. The Fifth Line is coming your way in January. I'm working on the final draft right now. I'm very excited to hear what you all think. Beyond those things, I'm getting ready to start writing a new short story. It should be on the shorter side (certainly no longer than 10 pages) so I'm hoping I can go through edits with it fairly quickly and find it a home somewhere. We'll see, though. I also have this really cool project I'd like to do in the future that is sort of me experimenting with format. It won't be a prose-type of project so for me to get it done, I'd need some help from voice actors and people who know how to run recording equipment (as it has been well established, I'm a bit technologically challenged). I do have plans for the book which will come out after The Fifth Line. It's done in the first draft, I just have to rewrite and edit it. And I know what book will be after that one. I'll get started on it as soon as finish the first draft of the epic southern gothic novel I'm currently writing. Priorities. So, I've got things to keep me occupied for the next couple of years. Hopefully it all turns out as planned.
In addition to all of that, I'm also working on pulling things together for Booktober Fest. I'll be signing books (copies of Bunny Boy) to sell but my shipments have been slow at coming in. I think I've found a payment option which should help. I just have to pull the trigger in ordering the proper device. Booktober Fest will be at Mr. K's Bookstore and will take place on October 7, 2023. I hope to see you all there for that, as well!
I'd like to start recommending books and other forms of media as a part of this blog. Back in college, I used to write book/music/movie reviews for a website called The Odyssey. I won't be doing that here. But what I will be doing is recommending different forms of media that I've enjoyed. I've already more-or-less recommended The Outsider as a TV show you ought to check out. So, what are you waiting for? Go! Watch!
